Vintage Glass in my Kitchen - Shards into Jewelry
Inevitably a lot of us Pyrex collectors fall in love with other brands of glass. There is just so much to love out there. I rearranged items on my yellow kitchen shelf that I intend to leave for a very long while. I may replace a few items over time with some special dream pieces. This is my solid color collection of McKee, Jeanette, Glasbake (and Maid of Honor) Pyrex, Fire King and a Delphite bowl set that looks like Fire King but is unmarked and no one knows for sure what it is. I got a little sun in my kitchen this cold rainy morning so I thought I'd take a picture.
I completed some jewelry requests and exchange pieces recently as well. My pieces are made from glass shards sent to me by other collectors. It's sad to receive dishes in pieces when they are highly sought after collectibles that aren't easy (or cheap) to get, but I do get satisfaction in creating lasting keepsakes from them.

Finds and Some Pretty Little Things
Some pictures of some pretty vintage things. I wanted to capture some images and post before I get too busy again.
This beautiful Fenton piece was found at a thrift store. It's not something I seek out or collect, but it's beauty grabbed me and I took it home.
Sweet little egg cups by Arcopal in the Scania pattern.
I am a huge Bitossi fan. I always hope to find it at the thrift stores and it happens quite infrequently. I happened to run into this ashtray and thrilled about it.
These are tiny butter pat dishes I found at the thrift. I have a weakness for pretty dishes. I have plenty of dishes so I justified buying these--tea bag holders! Produced in Germany, Easterling Bavarian china dates 1950s.
Vintage Hawaii mug that hubby picked up.
I'm the proud owner of this beautiful McKee chalaine bowl that I received in a trade. I took it in the garden recently to get a nice picture of her. This blue is incredible!!!
Single Hazel Atlas Ovide cup I picked up for a friend.

Spring Cleaning!
I 've been doing serious spring cleaning and that includes going through every drawer and closet in the house. And if that isn't enough, I'm giving our living room a makeover! I haven't gone out of my way to trade vintage goodies, but I was contacted with offers I simply couldn't refuse. And the garden this time of year...just beautiful.
I was offered this delphite periwinkle blue mixing bowl set in a trade. It is unmarked but the identical in shape and size of Fire King splash proof bowls. The largest bowl in this set is 7.5" Darling little set!
Jeannette and McKee are my jadite and delphite of choice. I also received a seafoam green Anchor Hocking bowl for my collection.
Delighted to add these Jeannette measuring cups to my small collection.
I've been in a Pyrex trading group for years now and made a lot of great trades with a lot of different people. Many of us tend to go through phases and we move onto other things and can easily give up great things to get great things. We don't just continue to accumulate, but rotate I guess you could say. Just an observation! haha!
Hubby wanted me to have something for Mother's day so he took me antiquing. That is a rare occasion as we are the thrifty type! I purchased a Jeannette grease jar and McKee chalaine blue fridgie dish at 30% off!
And more jadite goodies from one of my regular trading buddies. Quite a few pieces in a short period of time, but it was spread out enough so packing wasn't too grueling.
And a series of pictures from my back yard....

Jeannette refrigerator dishes...one of my repeat trading buddies hunted these up for me.
A couple fantastic trades! I gave up some Pyrex and gained jadiete and pink butterpint.

Cleaning and Collections
Having open shelving means plenty of dust. Today I decided to tackle a few areas and change up my glass displays.
One of my most loved collections. Vintage Hocking Glass Company refrigerator dishes.
Glasbake made such a variety of beautiful patterns. I limit myself to the loaf pans as a stack doesn't take up a lot of room.
Some of my Vintage Pyrex...
While I was cleaning my kitchen the morning sun lit up my shelf and I couldn't refrain from capturing the moment. (Glasbake, McKee, Fire King)
Hubby and I both love those darling vintage nursery planters. I moved them from the top of my antique closet to the shelf I put my Pyrex on.
Everything is clean now and I'm happy!

Vintage Trades - McKee and Starburst
I haven't been trading so much recently. Not much I want, or what I want no one has, or I don't have what people want to trade for what they have that I want. All of that make sense? haha! I did have people contact me though who said they have things on my list! And so I added to my McKee fridgies...
And also now have the yellow Fire King splash proof bowl to go with my red and green. Very excited to get this huge minty Franciscan Starburst chop plate too! It was great unloading some things that were in my trade pile at the same time!
