Pyrex Pendants - New Patterns

I received a lot of unfortunately broken Pyrex from a variety of traders and people who have come to know me.  I'm really excited about the opportunity to work with so many different patterns.  I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures here, I've been so busy I'm not even sure where to start.

One of my favorites.  Since I rarely wear jewelry, it is easy for me to let these pendants go to people who will really love and wear them.

Wonderful mix of colors.

Not only American Pyrex, JAJ, Agee, Federal and Hazel Atlas glass as well.

Vintage Pyrex Shards - Pendants for the Shop

Christmas crafting just isn't happening.  I've been steadily collecting materials to craft with, but it looks like it's going to have to be Christmas in July.  My desire to work on Pyrex shards has been so strong--new colors and patterns are just too irresistible!  Here are some shards before wiring.  They are currently in my shop. (Shards are courtesy of collectors and traders who either received Pyrex broken in transit or had mishaps during use).

Vintage Pyrex Pendant - Black Rooster Space Saver

My latest Pyrex pendant. I had the good fortune of being the recipient of the shards (of an unfortunately already broken) Rooster space saver. I was so eager to to see what I could make that I changed my plans that day and started on it right after the box was delivered. This pendant is wrapped in 18K plated wire and embellished with amber, faceted black onyx and pearl.

I edited this original post because when I re-read it, it almost sounded like I received a space saver that was broken on it's way to me and THAT I could never be happy about!!  No, this one was broken in transit to someone else and that person sent me the shards.  I was happy that I got the opportunity to work with these shards.

More Fun with Broken Vintage Pyrex - Snowflakes and More!

In between everything else and the holidays, I managed to create a handful of Pyrex pendants from shards I was given.  And, of course, I had a wonderful time making these even if my joints are a little achy from cold working with my diamond hand pads!

Vintage Christmas Finds!

I've been busy as usual!  We've picked up a bunch of vintage items for my holiday crafting.  Here's a Royal Copley planter we found and I promptly made an arrangement in it.  Two gold foil and glass bead stars, a plastic made in Italy tree topper and a glitter covered star were also recent finds.

All I've had time to do was to bring things home, unpack them, photograph and put them away.  I managed to make a handful of Pyrex pendants and put them in my Etsy shop, so there was packing and shipping to do in between.

This year I've gotten a thing for plastic tree toppers...

I've found a bunch of satin balls that I am wanting to make wreaths with.  Old tinsel garland, and straw tree with fabric critter ornaments and a dancing Santa on a music box, he turns when it's playing.

Planters, ornaments, bottle brush trees and Joseph Originals cups...

This particular day I found a number of items with boxes with nice graphics.  Luckily the thrifts appear to not be taping up all the ornament boxes this year.

Bits of crafting stuff, ceramics, Hong Kong wind up santa and these awesome gingerbread men...

One still has his Japan sticker on him.

And still more...

I was beyond excited to finally pick up a couple pixie knee huggers!!!  We also got a flickering hurricane lamp and a Merry Glow spinning tree topper!  Hubby found a swag made out of bottle brush that I will use in crafting.

Another really cool surprise are these light bulbs.

They came in a box with some vintage ornaments and look like just white lights marked Japan.  But to our surprise, when we plugged one in we found the interior has been painted in multiple colors.  None are exactly alike.  Once they heat up, they randomly flash, blink and fade.  There appears to be two lights within each bulb that act independently.  They are amazing!

I also purchased one holiday item from the vintage mall.  I rarely go there and just stick to the thrifts, but I made an exception and I'm glad I did!

I found a very nice 14" bottle brush tree for my large deer!  And while I was there, I saw this..

...a pale yellow Pyrex 231 pan in excellent condition.  I couldn't leave it. I also found my second piece of Descoware in the Markley pattern at a thrift.

Phew!  I'm pooped, but wait!  I haven't linked up with  Sir-Thrift-A-Lot at Thriftasaurus for the longest time--let's hop on over there and see what's going on!   See you over here!

Vintage Ornament Wreath - 14" (6a) Mr. and Mrs. Claus

I'm getting behind in posting.  It's been busy over here at Santa's workshop!  My latest wreath and looks like it will stay with us.  Hubby gave me the side eye!  Ha-ha!

Crafting for My Etsy Shop - Pyrex Pendants

I'm giving in.  A number of people have indicated they really want to buy my Pyrex pendants.  I've received enough Pyrex shards from mishaps from fellow collectors that I can make more pendants and make them available for sale.  We'll see how it goes!  I worked a good number of hours today on  shaping, grinding and smoothing.  I'm hoping to get some in my shop by the end of the week.

Vintage Ornament Wreath - 11" (5a) Sweet Pinks

Grinding away...had to get a pink wreath in the making.  This one feels like a piece of costume jewelry to me.

Vintage Ornament Wreath (2a 10") - Green, Red and Pixies

I got caught up on a bunch of things on my to do list the past couple weeks and today I finally had the afternoon to craft!  This is the second wreath for the upcoming holiday season.  It is the smallest I've attempted so far. The ring base is 6" and the overall finished wreath came out to be 10".

Adding to the Aquarium - Pink and Blue Vintage Ceramic Fish

Got this wonderful pair of vintage ceramic fish in a trade with one of my Pyrex trading buddies.  Hubby is a huge fan of these.  I thought these were especially sweet as the design incorporated bubbles, seaweed and sand into it.  Most of the time you find fish and the detached bubbles are missing.

Dream Find! - Vintage CNC Ceramic Whales

I had this secret little wish--that I could find a set of vintage ceramic whales for my hubby.  I was showing him pictures of the collectible vintage marine wall plaques on ebay, telling him about the astronomical prices.  He loved the whales when I showed him--got all excited.  Well, I figured that was as close as he was going to get to them.  Low and behold I found a set!  One of the babies is missing, but do we care?  These are labeled CNC Los Angeles.   Apparently they are the only marine critters the company offered.  Norcrest has a set, but I must say, I think these are much cuter!!  I washed, wired and hung them up over the track lights in the bathroom. There's a whole 9 feet of space for more fish!

A Pyrex Find and a Pyrex Trade

I found the bamboo cradle for the Dynasty 475 promotional.  Truth be told, I've be scouring the thrift's baskets sections for months!  It finally happened--I found one.  And then, I traded for the dish.  I was secretly wanting this one.  LOL

Thrifty Vintage Finds - Franciscan Starburst!

Went hunting yesterday for vintage goodies! It's been so dry lately.  First stop, Franciscan Starburst platter. Great price and minty! Score! I figured if I didn't find anything else, it didn't matter.  This is my third piece of Starburst in years.  I'm still in disbelief!
