Dream Find! - Vintage CNC Ceramic Whales

I had this secret little wish--that I could find a set of vintage ceramic whales for my hubby.  I was showing him pictures of the collectible vintage marine wall plaques on ebay, telling him about the astronomical prices.  He loved the whales when I showed him--got all excited.  Well, I figured that was as close as he was going to get to them.  Low and behold I found a set!  One of the babies is missing, but do we care?  These are labeled CNC Los Angeles.   Apparently they are the only marine critters the company offered.  Norcrest has a set, but I must say, I think these are much cuter!!  I washed, wired and hung them up over the track lights in the bathroom. There's a whole 9 feet of space for more fish!

A Pyrex Find and a Pyrex Trade

I found the bamboo cradle for the Dynasty 475 promotional.  Truth be told, I've be scouring the thrift's baskets sections for months!  It finally happened--I found one.  And then, I traded for the dish.  I was secretly wanting this one.  LOL

Thrifty Vintage Finds - Franciscan Starburst!

Went hunting yesterday for vintage goodies! It's been so dry lately.  First stop, Franciscan Starburst platter. Great price and minty! Score! I figured if I didn't find anything else, it didn't matter.  This is my third piece of Starburst in years.  I'm still in disbelief!

Vintage Kitsch Finds - Honey Pot

Just a couple little sweet finds. Not that we NEED another cow creamer, but no way I could tell hubby he couldn't have it. Little honey pot with two bees, just so adorable. Marked Japan. Likely came with a little spoon.

Vintage Finds - Some Pink and Blue

There hasn't been a lot out there in the wild but I suppose it depends on what strikes your fancy, but I'm trying to be really picky so I don't end up being a hoarder.  Great prices on what I found.  Best piece is this Holt Howard 2 piece salt shaker.  First time every running into Fire King apple blossom patterned pieces and a nice delphite blue bowl.  Phone was a total surprise, beautiful blue, fits into my guest room!

My Newest Addition - JAJ Gaiety Black and Yellow Space Saver

I was refraining from posting this Pyrex piece until I could also declare that I earned the funds to pay for it through selling Pyrex that I have fallen out of love with!  It was a lot of work as I don't really make money off selling--at most I hope to recover my initial investment. Sooo...that meant quite a few sales and a whole lot of packing to pay for this not so inexpensive piece!  I am proud however, that I did get this for a less than the going price on Ebay!  Pyrex gods have been good to me once again!

Colorful Water Fountain - Thrift Store Find

Found a fountain at the thrift the other day. It's something on our wish list for years now. This one appealed to us both. Pump works fine and really pushes some water. Went back out again today to find a vessel to disperse the water. The sound of the water hitting the mesh screen was less than desirable. I looked everywhere and ended up getting this green pot that ties in with the colors of the fountain and has holes in it, creating a much more interesting and more dimensional sound. And just for fun, I put a glass koi in the bottom--easy to maintain! LOL

United Fireplace Clock

I've seen one of these clocks on line, in fact, there is a You Tube video of one in action.  I saw this one in the cart at the thrift and tested it to see if it worked then hunted hubby down to show him.  His response, "I have to have it".  And so he did.  And me?  Well, I spent the next two days cleaning it.

This picture illustrates how dirty  the clock was.  I took the front off the fireplace and cleaned it. Quite a difference.

You can see how much build up is in the flowers on the the left hand side.

All cleaned up and reassembled.  Amazing how realistic the flames look when it is in motion!

Vintage French Bulldog S&P Shakes made in Japan

Picked these up for a friend that loves French bulldogs.  Too sweet!
