Having Pyrex on the brain these days, I found myself too lazy to do house work this afternoon but enough energy to wash up some Pyrex. I have had blue Butterprint out for display and use all summer and it's time for a change! I posted recently my current turquoise collection, I've already added some more pieces just this week. Here it is without the 4 quart blue on white Butterprint (I received as a gift).
Here is the new set up for fall!

I'm missing some small patterned casseroles that I sold on ebay. Also a Cinderella bowl and the old pattern small mixing bowl. I don't have any pans in this pattern. Butterfly Gold wasn't one of my favorite patterns before but it has really grown on me.
Funny you said that about the butterfly gold. I wasn't loving it either at first glance, my husbands grandmother had the corelle dishes to the BFG and the complete set of Pyrex in that pattern and he grew up with that so we stumbled across the corelle dishes in an antique store and he wanted to get them and I wasn't loving them but I said sure because he loves them and reminds them of his grandma. We got a place setting for 4 I believe and then after a few months that pattern grew on me! Now I love it. I have almost the complete set in the corelle dinnerware and almost the complete set in Pyrex except the fridge dishes... I think it's so cute now
ReplyDeleteFantastic! My mom still has the pink gooseberry Cinderella bowls. I always thought they were so neat--we've found two so far. I have a service for 4 BFG and serving pieces. Another another place setting for 4 minus the berry bowls. I'm suppose to sell them, but it hasn't happened yet... all that packing and shipping isn't cheap.
ReplyDeleteYes I know!!! I have spare to sell also on eBay but haven't yet, I do flat rate shipping and it isn't cheap!
DeleteI love the pink gooseberry I also have only 2 mixing bowls so 50's! That's really nice your mom still has them!!
Isn't it funny how we love what we grew up with? My family had the Early American, so I get that warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I come across it. I saw a complete set of pink gooseberry in an antique shop-I was so tempted but it was a bit pricey for me ($89)-I ALMOST bought it though, till I saw the smallest bowl was completely DWD. So sad!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm always so sad to see those poor DWDs. Especially when it's a dry spell and I can't find anything! I've gotten two of the gooseberry so far and it's taken a couple years to find them!
